Undergraduate Experience Survey

UBC wants to hear from you! The Undergraduate Experience Survey is a quick 5-minute check-in to ask about your year at UBC and your plans for next year.

Student feedback has led to real change at the university, including:

  • Initiatives to address affordability,
  • Enhanced academic programming and services,
  • Additional experiential education and research opportunities, and
  • Extended career development programming

The survey is open March 12 – March 28. Complete the survey to be entered in a draw to win one of ten $100 gift cards!

Check your inbox for the survey invitation.

The UES has been conducted annually at UBC since 2010, except every third year when UBC participates in the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE).

Long surveys can be overwhelming, leading to lower response rates and survey fatigue. To make it easier for students to share their thoughts, the Undergraduate Experience Survey (UES) transitioned from a single 45-minute survey to four shorter, themed surveys in January, March, September, and November, starting in March 2025.

As UBC’s primary student experience survey, the UES informs strategic planning, evaluation, and quality assurance efforts. Insights gathered help enhance existing programs and shape new initiatives to improve student life at UBC.
