Definitions

Course FTE

Calculated as (# of Credits x # of Students) / 30.

Domestic

Pertaining to citizens, refugees, or permanent residents of Canada. Note that for some purposes international students may be treated as domestic (e.g. incoming exchange students), and if so would be included in the domestic category.

International

International students are not citizens, refugees, or permanent residents of Canada.

ISI

ISI (International Student Initiative) indicates international students who are excluded from Provincial Government Targets since they are entirely funded via tuition.

Normal Load Divisor

The number of credits required to complete a specific year level in a specific program.

Normal Load FTE

Calculated for Undergraduate students as (# of Credits x # of Students) / Normal Load Divisor.

For graduate students it is 1/3 (if full-time), 1/9 (if part-time), measured over 2 winter terms and 1 summer session, then summed: such that a full-time student attending for 12 months would generate 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 = 1 FTE.

*Normal Load Divisor = the number of credits required to complete a specific year level in a specific program.

Undergraduate

Programs (or students in programs) that lead to baccalaureate or post-baccalaureate credentials (or no credential, e.g. unclassified students).
